Established in 1947, Valley Medical Center (VMC) is a public district hospital located in southeast King County. This 303-bed acute care hospital and clinic network is committed to providing safe, quality compassionate care for every patient, regardless of race, color, national origin, culture, language, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, socio-economic status, or disability. As winner of numerous HealthGrades awards for orthopedic and spine surgery, including being ranked #1 in Washington state for joint replacement, VMC also provides outstanding care for heart and stroke patients. Through an extensive network of neighborhood clinics VMC provides primary, specialty and urgent care access. VMC’s specialty programs include a Neonatal ICU, Level III Trauma Center, joint replacement and orthopedics--as well as numerous other specialties including birth services, cardiology, critical care, cancer treatment, stroke treatment and urology.

For more than ten years Valley Medical Center received numerous “Best Workplace” recognitions by regional publications, including Seattle magazine ranking VMC the #1 non-profit in the state in 2011. VMC is also the only healthcare network to be included in Modern Healthcare magazines annual “Best Places to Work in Healthcare” in the nation for four consecutive years. Additionally, VMC has been recognized as a “Leader in LGBT Healthcare Equality” in the Healthcare Equality Index 2012 report, an annual survey conducted by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation.
